Nurse interview tips
Nurse interviews check your registration, clinical knowledge and how you care for patients, and may include a short skills check.
What to bring
- Nursing council registration certificate
- GNM, B.Sc or ANM certificates and marksheets
- Experience letters
- Aadhaar card and photos
And the usual: a photo ID with a photocopy, your resume if you have one, and two passport-size photos.
Questions they often ask

Name them: ICU, general ward, OT, emergency, pediatrics, and for how long.

Explain temperature, pulse, breathing, blood pressure and oxygen, and when you report them.
What do you do before giving a medicine?
Check the right patient, medicine, dose, route and time, and note any allergies.
How do you handle a worried family member?
Listen, explain kindly what you can, and bring the doctor in for medical questions.
What to show them
Good questions to ask
- How many patients will I care for in a shift?
- Are night shifts rotating?
- Is accommodation or transport given?
For any interview
The basics, from the day before to the offer letter: how to get ready for a job interview.
Stay safe
- Never pay anyone to get an interview or a job: no registration fee, no training fee, no uniform deposit.
- Never hand over your original documents to keep. Showing them is fine; they can keep photocopies.
- Don't share OTPs, bank PINs or passwords. No real employer needs them.
- Go to interviews at an office or a public place in the daytime, and tell someone where you are going.
